In June of this year I was asked to shoot stills for a video thanking framers for their work helping to build the American dream. The client was Norbord, a Canadian wood product company.
This assignment was perfect for me because it combined shooting from the hip and capturing the action as well as using crafted lighting on gritty environmental portraits. This took place on active construction sites in California.
For the video they opted to animate my stills.
Capturing something real can be more powerful than anything that is setup.
